Bracelet Guide: How to Measure Your Wrist & Choose the Right Size

Finding the right bracelet size is essential for a comfortable fit and the right look. Whether you prefer a snug fit or a little extra room, measuring your wrist correctly will help you choose the perfect bracelet size.

How to Measure Your Wrist

You can measure your wrist in just a few simple steps.

Method 1: Use a Measuring Tape

  1. Wrap a flexible measuring tape around your wrist where you normally wear your bracelet.
  2. Keep the tape comfortably against your skin without pulling it too tight.
  3. Note the measurement in inches or centimeters.
  4. Use the chart below to select your bracelet size.

Tip: For the most accurate measurement, measure the wrist you intend to wear the bracelet on.

Method 2: Use a String or Strip of Paper

If you don’t have a measuring tape:

  1. Wrap a piece of string or a thin strip of paper around your wrist.
  2. Mark the point where the ends meet.
  3. Lay it flat and measure the length with a ruler.
  4. Compare the measurement with our size chart.

How Much Extra Room Should You Add?

Your wrist measurement is not necessarily your bracelet size. For a comfortable fit, add approximately:

  • +0.25–0.5 inch: Snug fit
  • +0.5–0.75 inch: Standard/comfortable fit
  • +0.75–1 inch: Loose fit

For iced-out, tennis, Cuban, and other heavier jewelry bracelets, a comfortable fit with a little room is often preferable so the bracelet can move naturally around the wrist.

Example

If your wrist measures 7 inches, you could choose:

  • 7.25–7.5 inches for a snug-to-comfortable fit
  • 8 inches for a more relaxed fit

Before You Order

Bracelet designs can fit differently depending on the link style, clasp, thickness, and construction. If you’re between two sizes, consider how you prefer to wear your bracelet.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should a bracelet fit on my wrist?

A bracelet should feel comfortable without being excessively tight. You should have enough room for the bracelet to move slightly around your wrist without slipping over your hand easily. For a comfortable fit, adding about 0.5–0.75 inches to your wrist measurement is a common starting point.

If your wrist measurement falls between two sizes, choose the larger size if you prefer a relaxed fit. Choose the smaller size if you prefer a closer, snugger fit, provided it is still comfortable.

Many men’s bracelets are commonly made around the 7.5–8.5-inch range, but the ideal size depends on the individual’s wrist measurement and preferred fit.

The ideal fit can vary by bracelet style. Heavier Cuban link, tennis, and iced-out bracelets may feel different because of their weight and construction. Your wrist measurement and preferred fit should be considered together.
